Matt McCall raises some good points in his latest newsletter:
Lamar Smith voted to reauthorize the Export-Import bank in 1997, 2002, 2006, and 2012. Last week, he voted against it. Why the sudden change?Read the whole thing here; Watchdog has a FANTASTIC write up about the CD-21 race here.
On Facebook, Smith says:
“When the bank uses taxpayer funding to help a foreign company buy an American-made product, that same company gains an advantage over American businesses.”
No joke. It’s been doing that for his entire tenure in Congress. Why change stances now?
Lamar has dropped in the polling from 80% to 70% to 60% in the last three Republican primaries, and as a result, all of a sudden he’s grown a conservative spine. Do you trust that it will remain if he’s re-elected?
